Rancher-Security-Scan is an open-source security scanning tool that integrates with Kubernetes clusters to identify vulnerabilities in container images and system components. It performs automated vulnerability assessments and generates compliance reports for containerized workloads. The tool scans registries, running containers, and cluster configurations to detect security risks and provide actionable remediation guidance.
Technical Considerations
The Rancher-Security-Scan image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image from Docker Hub. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.
