Openssh-Server Overview

OpenSSH-Server is a daemon that provides secure remote command execution and file transfer capabilities over encrypted SSH protocols. It listens on network ports (typically port 22) and authenticates incoming client connections using cryptographic keys or passwords before granting shell access to the host system. This allows users to remotely manage servers and execute commands securely across untrusted networks.
Technical Considerations
The Openssh-Server image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image from Docker Hub. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.
