Secure your stack with a hardened OpenSearch image freshly-built by Minimus. Minimus images always include the most up-to-date package version for all packages and dependencies contained in the image.
OpenSearch is a scalable, flexible, and extensible suite for search, analytics, and observability applications derived from Elasticsearch and Kibana. OpenSearch includes a search engine daemon (OpenSearch) and a user interface with dashboards for data administration and visualizations.
About Minimus Advanced Images
Minimus Advanced images are designed to be deployed in Kubernetes, often with Helm charts. Advanced images add operational tooling including pre-configured environment variables, lifecycle hooks (pre-start, post-start, shutdown), and helper scripts, so you can deploy and manage applications with minimal manual setup.
Technical Considerations
The OpenSearch-Advanced image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image from Docker Hub. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.
OpenSearch-Advanced built by Minimus:
- Runs as non-root by default as user 1001 for a security-first approach that protects against privilege escalation attacks.
- Drill down on the version specification tab to see the default user, listening ports, entrypoint, volumes, environment variables, etc.
