npm-Daycare Overview

Secure your stack with a hardened npm-Daycare image freshly-built by Minimus. Minimus images always include the most up-to-date package version for all packages and dependencies.

Use this image to set up an intelligent npm registry proxy with age and popularity filtering.

Try It Out

Run the image to set up the intelligent npm registry proxy and map it to port 4873:

docker run -p 4873:4873 \
  -e MIN_AGE_HOURS=48 \
  -e MIN_WEEKLY_DOWNLOADS=10000 \
  reg.mini.dev/npm-daycare

Then configure npm:

npm set registry http://localhost:4873

You can adjust the port, minimum package age and minimum weekly downloads to your needs.

Technical Considerations

The npm-Daycare image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened image for an NPM registry proxy.

npm-Daycare built by Minimus:

Runs as non-root by default for a security-first approach that protects against privilege escalation attacks.
Drill down on the version specification tab to see the default user, listening ports, entrypoint, volumes, environment variables, etc.
