MCP-Hub Overview

Secure your stack with a hardened MCP Hub image freshly-built by Minimus. Minimus images always include the most up-to-date package version for all packages and dependencies contained in the image.

Use the MCP Hub image to manage and aggregate multiple Model Context Protocol servers behind a single HTTP and SSE endpoint for AI clients.

Try It Out

For a quick test, print the help menu:

docker run --rm reg.mini.dev/mcp-hub --help

Check the Health Endpoint

MCP Hub exposes its status over HTTP, which you can confirm without connecting any downstream MCP servers. Create a config with an empty server list:

echo '{"mcpServers": {}}' > mcp-servers.json

Start the hub in the background:

docker run -d --name mcp-hub -p 3000:3000 \
  -v $(pwd)/mcp-servers.json:/mcp-servers.json \
  reg.mini.dev/mcp-hub --port 3000 --config /mcp-servers.json

Query the health endpoint:

curl http://localhost:3000/api/health

You should see a status response confirming the hub is running, followed by cleanup:

docker stop mcp-hub

Technical Considerations

The MCP-Hub image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.

MCP-Hub built by Minimus:

Runs as a non-root user by default for a security-first approach that protects against privilege escalation attacks.
Drill down on the version specification tab to see the default user, listening ports, entrypoint, volumes, environment variables, etc.

The Payoff

A hardened, minimal image that will remain more secure for the long run and accrue vulnerabilities at a slower rate.
