Kyverno-Readiness-Checker Overview

Secure your stack with a hardened Kyverno-Readiness-Checker image freshly-built by Minimus. Minimus images always include the most up-to-date package version for all packages and dependencies contained in the image.

Kyverno-Readiness-Checker is a built-in post-install readiness probe. After Kyverno is deployed, the chart runs this image to verify that the admission webhook is healthy before the release is marked ready.

Try It Out

Kyverno-Readiness-Checker can be deployed via Helm charts. See the related charts tab to get started.

Policy Exceptions

If your cluster has existing Kyverno policies that restrict image registries or require specific security contexts, add the following to your values.yaml enable policy exceptions:

enablePolicyException: true

Technical Considerations

The Kyverno-Readiness-Checker image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image from Docker Hub. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.

Kyverno-Readiness-Checker built by Minimus:

  1. Runs as non-root by default as user 65532 to match the public image.
  2. Drill down on the version specification tab to see the default user, listening ports, entrypoint, volumes, environment variables, etc.

The Payoff

A hardened, minimal image that will remain more secure for the long run and accrue vulnerabilities at a slower rate.
