Kubevirt-cdi-importer is the data import component of Containerized Data Importer (CDI) for KubeVirt, responsible for fetching virtual machine disk images from external sources and writing them into Kubernetes persistent volumes. It supports importing from HTTP, S3, and registry endpoints and handles multiple image formats including QCOW2, RAW, and compressed variants for use by KubeVirt virtual machines.
