Certbot Overview

Secure your stack with a hardened Certbot image freshly-built by Minimus. Minimus images always include the most up-to-date package version for all packages and dependencies contained in the image.


Certbot is a free, open-source client that automates the process of obtaining and renewing SSL/TLS certificates from the Let's Encrypt certificate authority. It handles certificate installation, configuration of your web server, and automatic renewal to keep your HTTPS encryption current. Certbot supports multiple web servers and can operate in fully automated or interactive modes.


Technical Considerations

The Certbot image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image from Docker Hub. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.

  1. Drill down on the version specification tab to see the default user, listening ports, entrypoint, volumes, environment variables, etc.
