\n\n# Argo CD Helm Chart\n\nArgo CD is a declarative, GitOps continuous delivery tool for Kubernetes. The Argo CD Helm chart automates deployment and configuration of Argo CD in Kubernetes clusters using the Minimus Argo CD images.\n\n \n## {{icon-list-search}} Prerequisites\n\n- A subscription to the Minimus images included in the chart\n- A running Kubernetes cluster (v1.25 or higher is recommended)\n- `kubectl` installed and configured\n- Helm v3.8 or higher for OCI support ([Installation instructions](https://helm.sh/docs/intro/install/))\n- Cluster Admin privileges\n\n**Note**: Argo CD requires CRDs to be installed. The chart installs them automatically by default (`crds.install=true`). The installing user must have cluster-admin privileges to create CRDs.\n\n

\n\n## {{icon-rocket}}Try It Out\n\nIn this example we will deploy Argo CD on a Kubernetes cluster using the Minimus Argo CD Helm chart. Argo CD will provide a GitOps-based continuous delivery platform for your Kubernetes workloads.\n\n

\n\n### Step 1: Start Cluster\n\n

\n\nIf you have a cluster to work with, skip this step. Otherwise, start a Minikube cluster. [Deployment instructions](https://minikube.sigs.k8s.io/docs/start/?arch=%2Flinux%2Fx86-64%2Fstable%2Fbinary+download)\n\n

\n\n### Step 2: Create Namespace\n\n

\n\nCreate a namespace:\n\n```\nkubectl create ns argocd\n```\n\n{{if-enterprise}} \n\nNext, create a Kubernetes secret for the Minimus token:\n\n```\nkubectl create secret docker-registry minimus-registry \\\n --docker-server=reg.mini.dev \\\n --docker-username=minimus \\\n --docker-password={{pull-token}} \\\n --namespace=argocd\n```\n\n{{/if-enterprise}}\n\n

\n\n### Step 3: Deploy the Helm Chart\n\n

\n\nDeploy the Minimus Helm chart:\n\n```\nhelm install my-argocd {{oci-url}} \\\n --version {{chart-version}} \\\n -n argocd \\\n --wait\n```\n\nIf you want to override the chart's defaults, go to the Values tab, save a copy locally with your changes. Deploy the chart with your overrides using `-f values.yaml`:\n\n```\nhelm install my-argocd {{oci-url}} \\\n --version {{chart-version}} \\\n -f values.yaml \\\n -n argocd \\\n --wait\n```\n\n

\n\n### Step 4: Verify Argo CD is Running\n\n

\n\n### Step 5: Test Argo CD Deployment\n\n

\n\nRetrieve the initial admin password:\n\n```\nkubectl -n argocd get secret argocd-initial-admin-secret \\\n -o jsonpath='{.data.password}' | base64 -d; echo\n```\n\nPort-forward the Argo CD server to access the web UI:\n\n```\nkubectl port-forward svc/my-argocd-server -n argocd 8080:443\n```\n\nOpen your browser and navigate to `https://localhost:8080`. Log in with username `admin` and the password retrieved above. You can also use the Argo CD CLI from inside the server pod to create and sync a sample application:\n\n```\nARGOCD_POD=$(kubectl get pods -n argocd -l app.kubernetes.io/name=argocd-server -o jsonpath='{.items[0].metadata.name}')\n\nkubectl exec -n argocd $ARGOCD_POD -- \\\n argocd login localhost:8080 --username admin \\\n --password \"$(kubectl -n argocd get secret argocd-initial-admin-secret -o jsonpath='{.data.password}' | base64 -d)\" \\\n --insecure\n\nkubectl exec -n argocd $ARGOCD_POD -- \\\n argocd app create example \\\n --repo https://github.com/helm/examples.git \\\n --path charts/hello-world \\\n --dest-server https://kubernetes.default.svc \\\n --dest-namespace default\n\nkubectl exec -n argocd $ARGOCD_POD -- \\\n argocd app sync example --timeout 150\n```\n\n
