Calico-Cni Overview
Secure your stack with a hardened Calico-Cni image freshly-built by Minimus. Minimus images always include the most up-to-date package version for all packages and dependencies contained in the image.
Calico-CNI is a Kubernetes network plugin that implements the Container Network Interface (CNI) specification to provide networking and network policy capabilities for containerized workloads. It uses BGP to route traffic between pods and nodes, enabling scalable layer 3 networking across clusters. Calico-CNI also enforces network segmentation through iptables-based or eBPF-based network policies, allowing fine-grained control over traffic between pods and external endpoints.
Technical Considerations
The Calico-Cni image provided by Minimus is a slim, security-hardened alternative to the public image from Docker Hub. The images are largely interchangeable, with a few differences as noted below.
